1. My every move in life is determined by the opinions of random people on message boards
Isn't everybody's?

2. Sometimes I will ask a question
to the lounge because they ARE detached from my drama...
Its good to get an unbiased opinion sometimes...
I read the ideas and work them into my thought process, but the final
answer is mine....

5. Not in the least.
I have a great career, wonderful husband and awesome kids. What some internet person thinks of me is of no consequence. I used to care what people on random internet message boards thought of me, but my life was less fulfilling at the time. I don't want to attack innocent people, but I'm not going to "make nice" to jerks either. I don't post much, but when I do, what anything thinks of me or of my opinions is about the last thing I worry about. I write to those I consider friends and when I have something to say.

9. i think the part about having a fulfilling "real" life is key
miserable people spread misery wherever they go.

i've been one of those at times.

6. Only when they "stalk" me.
Like a gentleman on Usenet who thinks he's scary because he found out I'm a teacher. He'd be more worrisome if not for his attempt to claim that I was posting to Usenet from my school's "web server" on a day school was not in session. If he knew I taught and where, you would think he could confirm that.

7. Opinion? No. Now, if they make sense as to how they come to an opinion,
that may have a bearing. A sound argument usually gets consideration.

10. yes and no. DU is a community i am affiliated with and while no one members opinions is terribly
important, i do know that if a bunch of du'ers wanted to ruin your du experience they could.

when i am at work, du is my crutch to get through a terribly mind numbing day.
