Poll question: Favorite thing to throw at Rocky Horror.
Yes, so I went to Rocky Horror tonight, or last night, this morning, and threw many things. So, I got to wondering what my favorite item to throw was.

I think it is the toilet paper or toast.

The rice is fun too, though. The next morning it seems like I always find rice on the pillow, despite washing my hair.

What about you?

1. I'm amazed that people still do Rocky Horror
Is this a new generation of fans?

I first did it over 25 years ago

2. I stopped about six years ago
When the yuppies invaded the East Village, and the theater owner told us to keep it down because the neighbors were complaining about the noise. :argh:

4. It was big around Seattle in the '80s...
...but I don't think they've had midnight screenings anywhere around her for at least fifteen years. Nowadays, the only way most people see it is on DVD.

5. As far as I know they're still going in NY
Haven't found any here in Phoenix, though.

I think with the exception of a tiny few hold out places (and one shot showings that places tend to have around Halloween), most people's exposure to Rocky Horror nowadays is DVD. A shame, that, because the theater experience is something that can't be replicated at home, no matter how much toast or how many lighters you have in your living room. :(

8. I never saw it in a theatre...
In fact, I never saw it until about eight or nine years ago, on television. A long story behind that...

6. Yep, it is showing here still.
The movie has been out for over 30 years now.

The people there today were pretty mixed, but mostly a 20 something crowd. I suppose being that they were not born at the time of the movie's release, they must be a new generation.

I am feeling old, because at one time I was the new generation....LOL.

9. Me! I used to really throw myself into the role of Eddie.
This is at The Vogue, in Louisville, KY, early 90's, with some of my fans:

11. The older 'artsy' theater here...
has started showing it here on the first weekend of the month. I haven't gone yet (because of my weird work schedule), but i plan to at least once.

I was a regular (252 screenings), and in the 'floor show' for a couple of years in Charlotte in the '80s (usually played Riff Raff, but was Eddie a time or two as well). Heck, my first roommates were people i had met at the midnight movies, too...

14. Yep, the movie keeps going.
It is interesting to see the evolution of the audience participation over time. Some of it allways stays the same, like Asshole and Slut. But, the shouts seem to always have somthing current added in.
