and Hex is very useful because you can easily convert a number between hex and bin. You can't just convert every digit individulay to get from decimal to binary or from hex to decimal, but you can do just that with hex & bin!

4 = 0100
A = 1010
D = 1101

A4D = 2,637 = 101001001101
