5. I was thinking of getting one of those for my man
He had picked up an annoying habit of saying "Ah, dang!" from one of his nitwit friends and it was driving me nuts.

I thought maybe a shock collar would be just the thing but oddly, the mere threat of it seemed to work.

6. I don't wear mine to work.
I have to wash my hands a lot and I have to take it off to dry underneath it or I get a rash...too much of a pain.
I wear it everywhere else though.

12. I should have put that as an option
I know a lot of people don't wear them to work - I didn't when I worked construction.

7. I'm female and cannot be legally married in my state.
But if the world turns inside out and gay marriage is suddenly allowed tomorrow in WV, I would wear a wedding ring for about 2 weeks, then take it off because I hate jewelry in general. :P

8. This will sound very odd, but...
...I am allergic to my wedding ring!

It's sad, too, because it has sentimental value to me. I do wear it occasionally, but it will start to break out my left hand with red bumps! Weird, too, because it didn't do it for quite a few years. But, the ring is paper thin now anyway (after 14 years). So, all things considered, I save wearing it for special occasions.

This is the truth... I swear it!

21. Try stainless steel or platinum.
I believe they are hypoallergenic.

23. I did
A couple of years ago my husband bought me a beautiful platinum ring. It didn't break out my skin at all... and I loved it. Unfortunately, in a story which is too embarrassing to even tell, I lost that ring.

I have since decided I am not worthy of fine jewelry.

16. I'm a male and I wear it.
Except when I go to sleep.

I like to sleep naked, and I feel more naked when I haven't got my ring on. I don't know if that makes sense to anybody else.

17. I tried...I tried SO hard, but just could not. I even tried wearing it on my
pinky, because that would make it less likely to snag on my guitar strings, but I just could NOT do it.

Strange for a guy who made his living as a jeweler for quite a while, but I simply CANNOT wear jewelry. No rings, necklaces, bracelets, I just can't do it.

And no, I do NOT own a wristwatch. Never have.

18. I have the actual ring and a gold band
Today, I put on the gold band.

I've worn a ring since our wedding almost 14 years ago. I can't imagine not wearing it.

25. I grew out of mine too, but now have lost most of the weight
and look forward to wearing mine again. My hands have a tendency to swell so I don't wear it all the time yet but I do wear it on occasion.

22. I only wear it on weekends
I work in a food plant and cannot wear any jewelry at work. I usually forget to put it on when I get home. I try to remember to wear it on weekends though because it makes my husband happy.

24. I wear my rings frequently, but I take them off frequently, too.
One time, I took my rings off in my sleep. When I woke up, the wedding ring was under the dog. The engagement ring was under the bed. Since then, I remove my rings before retiring for the night.

I also remove them when I'm working out with the trainer, because they tend to slip around my finger.

Rings have always driven me nuts. I told my husband I didn't want to bother with rings, but he wanted me to have one. I'm much more practical than he is.

30. I wear a weddomg ring everywhere except the shower.
When we got engaged my parents gave me my maternal grandmother's wedding ring and we combined a couple of her diamonds with her older sister's, who was also my godmother, diamond to make an engagement ring. My fiance bought me my wedding ring. It's 14k gold very simple in a style called "comfort fit" which just means that it has no edges but is rounded.

Ive gained weight since we got married and got it sized, now I must lose over a hundred lbs due to heart trouble and expect to have it re-sized. I didn't wear it when I was hospitalized.

My wife wears both her wedding and engagement rings always. she can't get them over her knucle easily.

after the wedding, it's just not significant to us.

34. Yes. Not wearing one makes me feel paranoid as hell
Don't ask me why. I don't know.

About four years ago, my tomcats Kenny and Titty Boy (yes, that was his actual name--EXTREMELY long story) were trying to kill one another. I had to get them apart quick, so I used a broom to separate them. Then I picked up Titty Boy after I thought he was calmed down...he turned around and sunk his teeth right into my ring finger, which started to swell to an unbelievable size probably because I had ten pounds of cat hanging from it. I used a pair of tin snips to remove my wedding band.

It took two weeks for my finger to return to its usual size; the entire time I was highly stressed out because I couldn't wear a wedding band.

The DAY my finger was back to normal, I went straight to a jeweler and bought a new band. I put it on and felt much better.

I also went to National Welders Supply for a pair of plasma cutting gauntlets. If they'll keep you safe from 10,000-degree heat, they should be more than adequate for cat teeth.

Both cats eventually died and I can't stand to wear gauntlets when I weld (I use oxyacetylene; you wear driving gloves for that) but I still have 'em.
