Has anyone upgraded to MS Office 2007?
I've had a few peeks at it and can't help wondering what Microsoft was smoking.

1. It's on my new laptop
But I really haven't used it yet. I started one Word document and it took me 20 minutes to figure out how to save it.

Every time I learn one program, they switch it up on me. :grr:

2. Tried the demo, got rid of it the moment I was done with what I needed doing
then downloaded open office and haven't looked back

3. Yeah, it's got that "where the hell are all the controls?"...
...interface that M$ used for Vista and IE7. They basically randomized every menu item and then hid the most commonly used ones. Voila! A new, more "user friendly" piece of software; as long as the user in question is a self-loathing masochist.

4. I love it.
It's actually a worthy upgrade. (though Vista is another topic, though its plusses overall outweigh its minuses...)

There are a few things I'd recommend as improvements on an already superior user interface design, but I doubt MS would hire me for any consultancy, never mind quality assurance... though Office 2007 is rather stable, and fast...

5. Yes, after 20 minutes or so, I got the idea behind the interface
after you get what they were trying to do it's pretty easy to navigate. There are some very useful improvements, particularly to PowerPoint. Overall, I am happy with the upgrade.

8. And Excel...
It's nice to have more than 255 rows...

And real time, on-the-fly font/layout changes... it's nice to see products that will make use of extra CPU cycles on demand.

And the ribbon is straightforward and nowhere near as cluttered.

More could be done, but on the whole it's worthy.

6. I use open office (it's free) and it works well and easy to use
Did not want to shell out a ton for Office-and it saves using the same extensions so people with MS office can use files I create (just sent out a resume I made with it and the guy had no issues with it and didn't even know it was from open office).

7. i actually really like it
It's easy to use once you get used to it -- doesn't take too long to figure out.

And it's just... well, prettier, than the old versions.
