I think I'm going to lodge a complaint about this city bus driver
So I'm on the bus, and the driver pulls up to a stop, and a woman runs up to catch the bus, and she makes it *just* as the doors close (he hadn't even started driving yet). So he takes one look at her, and starts driving! The woman is running along the side of the bus, banging on it and yelling at him to please stop, and the passengers on the bus are yelling at him to stop, but he just ignores everyone.

Later, he makes a stop and an elderly man tries to get off at the back of the bus, but the driver doesn't open the back door for him. So the elderly passenger yells "can you open the back door please?" And the driver yells back "Can't you get off at the front of the damn bus?!"

Talk about hating your job.

1. Oh yeah.
No matter if the driver was having a bad day.

7. can anyone imagine a worse job than city bus driver?
talk about a miserable line of work. do they ever have good days? the only time the bus drivers are ever nice is if you're on their first run of the day. that is usually enough to take the wind right out of their sails.

8. I think you need to come down to Portland.
Our bus drivers are generally very friendly. I've used our transit system pretty extensively. I can't say I've ever run across a rude bus driver like the one in the OP.

6. A bus driver called me a c**t once when I flagged him down.
I told him I was going to report it. . .he laughed. I did. . .he had to apologize. This was back in the 70's.
Then I drove a municiple bus for awhile. I wanted to call everyone who got on the bus c**ts. It's a sucky job.

10. The drivers in my city (Pittsburgh) used to be like that.
In fact, maybe you are in my city. They never let people out the back door, and they used to drive away from people at the stop. I say "used to", because one day some old dude got run over trying to chase down a bus, and his arm was torn off and he bled to death all over the street in broad daylight. Now they are supposed to stop at the stop and let everyone get on, and stop for people who are a little late to the stop. Nice, huh?

11. Hell yeah report him.
I've taken the bus for years and will not tolerate that. I once took a the old RTD from Miracle Mile area in Los Angeles to Santa Monica. At the big Jewish Temple on Wilshire a group of people were waiting and after a bit, the lady bus driver closed the doors and a woman's arm holding papers was in the door while she was still on the outside of the bus saying "Let me in!" The bus driver opened the door and told her to get away because the bus was full and she slamed the door and drove away. She was mean all the way to SM. She stopped at an intersection and I asked to be let off because all the other Los Angeles city drivers let me off there. She yells and tells me it's not a stop so I had to wait until she got to Ocean Ave., about 3 blocks away.

13. I flashed my disability pass to a bus driver
and he had the balls to ask me what my disability was. Then he called me a queer. I complained and he was suspended for one day. I was trying to sue the bus company but it really became a pain and I dropped it.

good and bad

I kind of put a whole county transportation system through the wringer once. I did find that there were a lot of cool drivers who actually enjoy getting people to work/school/fun on time and in one piece.

Edit: By the way if you don't let his boss know he is a prick, who will?

:hi:
