The best part of dropping Sophie off for her first day of Kindergarten...
Edited on Thu Sep-06-07 09:49 AM by LaraMN
no- it wasn't "getting rid of her."

It was NoelMN. His friends were trying to get him to come play on the playground, but he declined their requests because he HAD to come with us to bring Sophie to her room.

He insisted on helping her unpack her stuff and put it in her locker, and he told her he was on the other side of the building if she needed him.

I love the kind of the person he is.
:loveya:

Also, JackMN crawled into a locker and I had to drag him out while he screamed and kicked. I tried to pawn him off on the Kindergarten teacher but she said he had "too much energy" for her.

4. I hope he doesn't make up for it by being a horrible teenager!
He's such an easy nine-year-old...

but not all the time, not too OTT, and only with mom and dad. Usually I redirect it with humor....

8-9 are nice ages.... every age has it's delights, I think.

6. They're awfully good at redeeming themselves
for the occasional less-than-stellar behavior.

10. That's so sweet
Your story made my day. I love things like this.

I remember when our guy went down in a lacrosse game; he was nine and the girls were five. He was carried to the sideline and they rushed over and hovered over him like a couple of little mother hens. :loveya:

And, fortunately, he was fine. Seems he forgot to wear his cup that day and got whacked where he shouldn't have....

Great kids. My oldest was very protective of her younger sister - they're 17 months apart. When her sister got in trouble (often) and was grounded or sent to her room or whatever, SHE would cry. And stick up for her.

Meanwhile, her ingrate sister was usually blaming her sister for whatever devilment she'd been up to. :P

I love the dynamics between siblings. :hi:

14. What a wonderful big brother.
He'll probably look after her all the way through school.

To the point that might annoy the snot out of her during middle and HS years. :hi:
