I thought it was quite good. A few minor flaws, but I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Those of you who haven't read it, but are interested: It's a well-written steampunk fantasy. Doesn't try for a cast of thousands, and while it is disturbing in places, it isn't as bad as China Mieville's "Perdido Street Station." The theology and world-building is completely original, and there are none of the stereotypical fantasy races (aside from a few angels, there's nothing non-human at all.)
