Poll question: Fuck GD, who does the LOUNGE want in 2008?
I'm only listing candidates polling at least 5%. I'd list the love of my life Al Gore... but I've pretty much given up on him running. So there.

7. ITA
But I've come to the conclusion he's not running, based on this reply to kpete's post:

-Long time Gore supporters are not suddenly resigning from the campaigns they're in or the jobs they're at and giving no reason why. (This is indicative of a campaign machine being assembled)

-No Gore-affiliated national PACs are reactivating or soliciting funds. (Which would be indicative of a fundraising machine being assembled)

-No field offices or headquarters are being opened by a Gore PAC or campaign committee, and no low-level campaign staff are being hired to run them

-High-profile former allies of Gore are not de-endorzing their respective candidates en masse and talking up a Gore run

 :grr:

62. You watch. All those things will happen overnight if Gore announces.
I can't think of a true-blue Gore supporter who wouldn't drop everything to pitch in for the campaign if he announces. We'll see the swiftest acceleration from zero to race-winning since the Formula-One engine was invented.

I'm not ready to let go of that dream yet. In the tragic even that Al doesn't run, I'm going with Edwards. We don't get much of a say in the primaries here in WI but almost unanimously the people I know say "anyone but Hillary" or "Edwards"

15. I'm in the same boat as you
I passionately hope he'll still run. But a HuffPo blogger said he'd have to start an Exploratory Committee by Sep 1: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/james-boyce/al-gore-how-to-count-to-_b_57420.html

That hasn't happened.

And as the above poster demonstrated, sadly there's no sign of life at all of a would-be Gore campaign.

So like you, in the tragic event that Al doesn't run, I'm going with Edwards. And it doesn't look like Al is running.
