Though I will say that MN would be my second choice. Love MN, both physically, and the people, and the politics. Excellent place, even if you ARE wrong on football. At least you have Garrison Keillor, the Twin Cities, and lots of nature left, too.

9. Wisconsin is a Parasite
Every morning you see the "bugs" infecting into Minnesota from Hudson, Wisconsin and then in the evening dashing home to their Republican state. If it wasn't for the states around Wisconsin that also support Wisconsin, the place would be a forest.

Wisconsin a parasite my ass.

How rude.

If they only knew the truth of the parasites of Michigan and especially Illinois. And sometimes Iowa. But never Minnesota. I like Minnesota.

But fuck the FIBS.

14. FIB's
To be an FIB though, you need:

An SUV, van (not minivan), pickup truck or motor home with Illinois plates.

No gas cap, an old shirt or underwear stuffed into the filler tube.

Bumper stickers on one side that say something, anything to do with "Da Bears."

Bumper sticker on other side is half-worn off "Bush/Cheney 2000"

Faded, torn flag sticker in back window, which is so filthy it can't be seen through anyway.
(Little flags on plastic sticks optional)

Lots of tourist trap stickers on the rear of the vehicle.

The shocks on the vehicle are bad, so it leans to one side.

Vehicle windows periodically eject glowing cigarette butts and beer cans.

Ugly dog has it's head out the window into the breeze, barking at anything that moves.

(Hey, every year I see these!) :-)

19. I live right next to it.
I-43 runs less than a mile from my place here in Sheboygan.

Remember that horrible pile up last year on I-43, in the fog?
That was only a few miles from my place.

I turn on CNN, and they show the accident, and when they say where it is I nearly fall out of my chair.

34. The FIBs that annoy me are the mercedes, BMW, and
House On Wheel drivers, the aggressive type-A idiots from Chicago, and the generally obnoxious clowns who think that all WI roads should be travelled at 90 mph, passing on the right on the shoulder, because "We only have the weekend, so we have a right to be there RIGHT NOW!"

And then they fill up Lake Geneva and Door County and the Dells with their idiocy, backing the roads up for miles and miles and miles...

Hey, Illinois FIBS: Wisconsin isn't your park. People live there. Show them some respect.

(and please note, I do not talk of all Illinois people - people from southern Illinois seem pretty cool, it's just all those Chicago-area "We're in a hurry, we have no respect for the land, sory I don't know the difference between a cow and a deer but I killed it fair and square" morans)

28. correction: St. Croix county is a parasite
I agree that Hudson and surrounding communities should just be annexed by Minnesota so that their residents will have to start paying all MN taxes for the services and infrastructure they enjoy over here every single freakin' day.

Otherwise, I think WI is a great place and I really enjoy many of their consumable exports.

My ideal solution would be that MN and WI team up to secede from the US and become the The People's Northwoods Republic.

29. I love that idea
I think MN and WI would get along quite well as a separate republic.

Of course, might havet o get rid of the apostate football team, and just keep the Pcakers, but otherwise, all would be good.

I remember a number of years ago, a local DJ (I lived south of Madison at the time) called some places at random way up north in WI to ask if they knew who the gov. of WI is. Most of them did not, but they pretty much all knew who the gov. of MN was. Since most of their radio and TV up there comes from the twin cities.

I thought that was rather fascinating.

I also like that WI and MN have for so, so long enjoyed and shared "in-state" tuition for the universities of both states.

35. I'm afraid that the football issue may lead to civil war
in our fair People's Northwood Republic.

Can we somehow manage to co-exist with two teams? Granted, the Purple Squad will have to give that Texas Robber Baron owner the boot and sell shares of ownership to our citizens. Also, the "teflon terrarium" in Minneapolis has got to go. Maybe we'll just have UN peacekeepers out in force when the two teams play eachother.

38. Dual teams - why not?
That way, we can have football available over a much wider area, anyway. And we'll have them rotate using the teflon terrarium and God's House, so that neither team is any longer speicifcally located in one place. And then, when Da Bears (Satan's team) comes up to play, we'll just kill 'em. And it won't be illegal, cuz we'll be a separate country where it's okay to kill Da Bears.

32. And Michigan should give the UP back to it's rightful owners, because
they have just messed it up with a bunch of loony Freepers, and Wisconsin doesn't need a damned windy, blow your car over the edge, bridge to get to it.

36. One only appreciates WI once one has left ....
I moved to Indy about 5 years ago and OH MY do I MISS my home state !!

There is no 'real' water here,
No wildlife
No clean air
People have attitudes
Mostly nonthinking conservatives (except for my fellow Hoosier DU'ers)
and Bible thumpers

Freezing Rain, not snow that one can drive on
Tornadoes, but nobody has basements (duh ???)

The food sucks !
WTF good is Basketball anyway ?

Ok, I could go on.
But I truly DO get homesick.

:hippie:

39. I will never live in Michigan again
unless I had to, and it was in the UP.

I've never lived anywhere except MI that I had no respect for the state I was living in (except for the UP).

But that was also late 80s, when everything was truly gone to hell. I hope it is better now.
