OK--So I watched Into the Blue, that Jessica Alba movie,

and I really liked it. Well, the acting wasn't Oscar caliber and the story so-so for action stuff, but I really admired the gorgeous underwater photography (I did, so shut up) and the sheer athleticism of the whole cast, i.e. their comfort level underwater, breath holds, scuba, etc. And that Paul Walker is pretty easy to look at too, so there's something for everyone. (As enticing as Good Luck Chuck looks on the teevee, however, I think I'll be staying home.)

1. It's easy to have gorgeous underwater photography when Jessica Alba is underwater.

3. Yes..here's proof

Look at the dive hold starting at roughly 1:55 in. Alba and the guy in the lead are a good 30 feet down to the bottom there.

There's some other good parts too. :P

8. Yes. I was worried what they could do with a PG-13 rating, but it was good.

5. Ebert had nothing but good to say about it
The opening scenes are deceptive. The Jessica Alba character seems to have wandered over from the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue, or maybe she thinks she's in a video. Then the plot kicks in and she gets a lot to do while still looking fine in a swimsuit.

"Into the Blue" offers modest pleasures. It is not an essential film, but if you go to see it, it will not insult your intelligence, and there's genuine suspense toward the end.
