My mother's computer won't load web pages properly, no matter what browser we use (Explorer 7 or Firefox). It loads the page, but doesn't show all the formatting. I used to think it was just not displaying some of the separating lines and such, but today I discovered that it is not showing some of the hyperlinks. I can hover the cursor over a blank spot and it will turn into a pointer, and I can click and it will take me to that link. But it won't show the button or text or whatever is supposed to be there. Other links show up properly. It seems to be more a problem with images than text, since the best I can tell, the links that don't show up are buttons.
I've tried reinstalling both browser, virus and trojan checking, setting Internet options back to default, clearing all cookies and history.
Any idea? Am I missing some file the computer needs to translate images, or is their some setting that I haven't discovered yet?
It's running Windows XP, SP2.
