Momma's got a squeeze box, daddy never sleeps at night
So, ZenLeftyGirl and I were talking about this song by the Who. For the longest time, she had no idea what that line meant. "What's a squeeze box" she asked me? I can't believe she never knew. I mean, the song's lyrics make it very clear.

She goes in
and out
and in
and out

Cause she's playing all night,
And the music's all right.
Momma's got a squeeze box,
Daddy never sleeps at night.

It was very embarrasing. I had to actually tell her they were talking about an accordian. :o

3. But she couldn't play that all night
And the music wouldn't be allright.

Believe me, if my honey were squeezing an accorian all night I wouldn't sleep either. x(

Hey, did you run into my boss in Mexico? He left the same day you did. Big guy, bald, republican, doesn't do to well in the sun.. More importantly, did you run over my boss in Mexico.

7. I guess it could be
But accordian players are said to be more passionate about their music, playing well into the night.

13. Interesting technique
Does it make better music that way? I hear that people who are very good at it can play accordian all night long.

16. Mama's got a squeezebox that she wears on her chest
And when daddy comes home he never gets no rest

You don't wear a concertina on your chest, but you do wear an accordion.

4. Well, yes and no.
It well could be an accordian. Then again......

It's quite obvious for sure. Of course there's always the middle 8 which goes:

She says, "Squeeze me, C'mon and squeeze me,
C'mon and tease me like you do, I'm so in love with you."
Mama's got a squeeze box - Daddy never sleeps at night.

9. She just really likes her accordian
It beckons to her when the moon is full. Squeeze me, c'mon and squeeze me... It calls to her and wants her to play polka.
