13. Well...
not really.

You see, I had to have kidney surgery where they went up my foo foo with no anesthesia by choice.

Also, I had a panic attack.

Other than that, life is good. :P

How are you?

14. Better than you, I suspect...
...it's T-7 days, and I'm only half packed, worried about missing something important, excited as hell about leaving, and depressed that I'm leaving as well.:hug:

No anesthesia?? BY CHOICE? yikes! I'm a chickenshit about pain. I begged the OB/GYN to knock me out when I had my sons.

15. Let your excitement...
dominate your thoughts. I know it is scary, but let the good thoughts over-ride. You know what I mean, right?

Also, you don't exactly need general anesthesia for this type of surgery. It is a tube that they put up your penis, past your prostate, into your bladder, and up to the kidney. Now, general is obviously preferred, but not required if you have a decent pain tolerance. I chose no anesthesia for the first time (this is a recurring problem for me) because I wanted to get the hell out of there ASAP.

16. What happened philboy?
Me, I'm comin' off a bout of something called pericarditis, but I'm feeling okay. Takin' my meds and followin' orders until the doc says otherwise.

My town is flooded, but other than that, I'm fine.

You?

17. I was not familiar with...
your condition until I Googled it just now.

It sounds like an inflamation around the heart?

That does not sound very nice at first glance...but it looks like it can be treated successfully, and I wish you the best.

I have recurring stones and bleeding kidneys that sometimes clog me up. Nothing life threatening, just painful and a pain in the ass. Good thing I still have my looks and personality. :P

Best of luck to you.

18. Sorry to hear about your kidney troubles--
especially that it's painful.

Yeah, I had an inflammation of the sac around the heart. The docs are still trying to figure out what caused it--maybe that I didn't take an antibiotic before dental work (I have a heart murmur, and I'm supposed to take amoxycillin before any invasive procedure including dental work. I forgot to remind the dentist.), maybe something to do with my scoliosis which may have caused my ribs to rub against the pericardium causing an inflammation, maybe stress-related, maybe they'll never know what caused it.

I'm taking an antibiotic, pain pills when I need 'em (one so far), and I have an exercise regimen to strengthen my heart over time. I thought I was dying at the time--heart palpitations, chest pain, weakness--but I feel great now. Back to work tomorrow.

And I still have to struggle with my looks and personality :)

But it sounds like we'll both survive. That's a good thing.

Have a great night :hi:
