Forest of Words (a poem, and a website I am working on)

[The Straight Story]

I wanted a place to post my musings, my poems, and to dedicate to my wife and daughter. So a few days back I registered forestofwords.com (not up yet, still working on the pages before I upload them).

My main page though will have this on it:

Forest of Words

I look at you
and our life we have shared
I sit here trying to write how I feel
And find myself lost in a forest of words

As I walk the path
Which our life forges through the forest
Every so often I look back
At where we have been

9 years of trails
of trials
Tears escape my eyes, as the words escape my lips
I'd walk that path again with you

As we turn and head forward
trees as big as redwoods stand before us
and I realize this is one forest I could stay lost in
the path ahead is unclear, but one I will traverse with you

Along the way we were joined on our trip
our little girl - each step now we take
we hear the snapping of twigs by her little feet
and our path has changed

Now we hike this trail a family
and the words in my heart grow for you both
the forest grows
no one can clear cut that which has grown in my heart

Another day
Another Journey
Scenery to take our breath away
And when the storms come, let this forest give us shelter
