4. Well, I'm digging being in love again....
'Cause I didn't think I'd get back to a place emotionally where I'd let that happen again. And if I'm very, very lucky, marriage will be part of that one of these days. :hi:

I'm so, so happy for y'all. :loveya:

I want to go back so badly, but, it will be at least $1000+ for plane tix, in the good season, plus hotel, etc, so it will be a while. It's one thing to go as one person, but two...big $$. We'll get there though, although by that point it will probably be with child, as we're going to start on that this winter. :D

Eeeek! :bounce:

10. I've been married for almost eleven years now
and I love my husband more than ever. He's my best friend and my rock. I'm sorta ditzy, but he keeps me grounded. He's kinda obsessive, but I tend to make him more loose. He makes me laugh until I cry and he makes me laugh when I feel like crying. Yeah. Marriage rocks.

As you know, it takes many years to develop that kind of deep relationship. It's certainly not based on sex alone.

24. Getting ready to celebrate eleven!
However we met and dated from Nov. 1990...we've lived together since May 1993, and legally married 09/21/96, whoo-hoo!

However, the piece of paper hasn't really changed a lot. Our commitment happened 2.5 years earlier after I miscarried a pregnancy. At that time, we realized we were soul mates, regardless of any future expectations or personal plans. Whatever, we were meant to enjoy the life adventure together.

Commitment rocks! I'm so happy for y'all! Finding and enjoying a soul mate, is the absolute best you can expect from life.

Six weeks...eleven years? It's all about what has happened in that time. Years...months...screw time...Married so many years, isn't any better than married a few months, uh, the marriage is about equality.

Just saying that a newlywed couple can always teach us old-timers... or at least spurn us on! Better, greater love-making...hmmm..............Yet, I'll admit that 18 years of familiarity really adds to great love-making (we hooked up in 1990, made it legal in '96.)

On edit...It's not about years, it's about experience. Hell, a couple can have more experience in 2 weeks, than another couple in 20 years.

44. My parents celebrated their 60th in January. It hasn't all
been great, but they still hold hands in public.

I've been married 34 years, and think the secret to longevity in marriage is the ability to give each other some space, don't dwell on the other person's faults, and take those vows seriously. It's worked for us.

My daughter is 14. She has a good circle of friends. Every one of them comes from a home where the parents are divorced, so a lot of people apparently aren't enjoying marriage so much.

Congrats to you both. I hope your marriage is one of the long and happy ones.

Yes, for the most part, I am happy with my life partner. We enjoy the same things, have the same political views, and -- most importantly -- love each other very much.

digging might not be the operative word, but it still has its moments and we're still together and that's not likely to change. :-)

What's really weird is that we sometimes say exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. Kinda freaky really.
