Weird food allergies
Edited on Wed Aug-22-07 09:16 PM by ncabot22
Who else has odd food allergies? I just discovered I'm allergic to blueberries. Who the hell is allergic to blueberries--the world's most harmless fruit?

edited for spelling - d'oh.

peanuts are no problem. I also break out when handling cardboard boxes. I'm allergic to every tree but maples.

4. My brother just recently found out that he's mildly allergic to cashews.
No other nuts. Just cashews. Whenever he eats something with cashews in it, he gets a slight itchy redness around his mouth. And that's it.

5. macadamia nuts
My daughter has a severe reaction (anaphylactic) and could die if she eats them. They used to be my favorite nut. It's a very rare allergy.

I've never heard of someone with blueberry allergy before - I hope they're easy to avoid.

6. Sweetie's mom is allergic to mango. Who ever heard of such a thing? And...
...she has a friend who is allergic to all sorts of peppers,
from bell to jalepeno. I had to make a salsa once, for a meeting
they were attending, and had to use white pepper & wasabi for the
heat because a teaspoon of cayenne could have killed her.

What's up with that?
