So, What's The Verdict On THE SIMPSON'S MOVIE?
I haven't seen it, so no spoilers please! Just want to know the general consensus. Should I see it in the theatres or would it be ok to wait for the DVD?

2. Cool, So Not Too Shabby
Is it worth seeing in a theater? Does it lose anything if I wait for the DVD?

6. Yeah, I Figured As Much
But I thought maybe there was something special they might have done that would not have translated as well or been as cool on a smaller screen.

3. Heard a review on a good radio station
an alternative radio station in Charlottesville.

"91 seconds on film" the segment is called

She said that it wasn't earth shattering but more like 4 really "solid" episodes back to back to back to back.

JOKE SPOILER follows

Apparently near the beginning Homer is asked about going to see the big Itchy and Scratchy movie in the theatre, Homer laughs "Only a SUCKER would pay to see something he can see for free on TV" (hearty laugh follows)

11. that's about what I would say
I laughed my ass off for the whole movie, but that's what I'd do for any good Simpsons episode.

It was funny, but probably not something I'll be talking about a year from now.

4. Pretty good -- not great.
I thought the plot was a little odd ... not in a good way...

7. Meh
Without giving too much away, the movie is just a rehash of some of the less funny episodes.

It has some funny moments, but isn't half as funny as a Futurama episode.

The movie kept trying to make a point about Homer's parenting skills and the environment, which were true but stale and not entertaining.

4/10. I expected more. It could have been more. The movie seemed overly long and it was barely over an hour.

8. Loved it. Bart's animated 'unit' alone was worth the price of admission!

10. I liked it. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
Although, I'm not a diehard Simpsons fan (I don't watch it religiously, just in syndication usually), so take my opinion with a grain of salt. It was pretty clever and had some good laughs, but I expected it to be better than it was. Seeing it on the big screen was a treat, though.

There are worse ways to send $8 in an hour and a half.

12. Go see it.
One of the best experiences you'll have in a theater this year.

13. It was good, not as good as, say, 22 Short Films About Springfield
but well worth the trip to the theater to see them on the big screen......

My kids won't stop singing "Spider Pig" though.....

14. The Girardian imagery gave me the creeps
But then, I found Girardian imagery in Rush Hour 3, so it may be just me.

16. I liked it a lot, and expected it to be the Worst. Episode. Ever.
it was fun. A few 'typical' moments and stale jokes, but overall well-written and laugh-out-loud fun. A few nice surprises too.

17. I thoroughly enjoyed it
The plot was a little thin but nevertheless simple and enjoyable enough that kids would like it yet the inside jokes, the references to modern life and culture and the subtle and not-so-suble humor was sufficient to keep the adults entertained IMO
