10. They know me. I've been feeding 'em for years.

They always hover at my window doing crazy dances just before they migrate south for the winter.

Butterflies land on me, chipmunks run across my toes. ;)

Thank you.
Have you planted flowers for the hummers?

16. Plant reds and pinks. They love the perennial (easy to grow) bee-balm.
I have a lilly garden next to my cement pond which now has 3 Koi to keep the tadpoles company. In the back yard there are impatiens, petunias, rose mallows and tropical hibiscus.

I mix 1 cup sugar to 2 cups of hot water to fill the feeders which shouldn't be in a direct line of sight from one another. One hummer can try to chase everyone away if all the feeders can be seen at the same time.

Let me know if you need anymore tips. :loveya:

The flowers that came up on a Google search were lovely.

22. The sweeter the smell the sweeter the taste.
IMO petunias smell the best at dusk.

I love to sit and quietly watch nature. I can be at peace for hours with my thoughts next to any living body of water ~ like my little holding tank (for the tadpoles and water lilies that I rescued before the water was pumped out of the pool so we could add 3 truckloads of clay) and the cement pond.

20. I've been feeding 'em since the Spring of '96. They are territorial.

But they seem to love me.
When I clean and refill the feeders they hardly wait for me to walk away before they land to sip the nectar.

21. That is really cool.
It must be fun to watch all of them feeding.

It must be wonderful to have a place where you can lay out in the sun nude. I'm amazingly jealous! I haven't been nude sunbathing in years. :(

26. I can only lay out for 20 minutes on a side. I burn easily.

The sun on my nude body feels wonderful. I've avoided thinning the hedges around my bedroom and the bluestone porch for years to have the privacy.

There were more birds in years gone by because when I was here during the winter I provided a heated birdbath and food. They missed me this past year. No one fed 'em. x(

30. The females are so much larger than the males.
I love to watch the mating flights. You can probably lure the hummers to your home if you wish.

I haven't had an allover tan in years. I'm looking forward to the next 3 weeks of peacefulness ~ no contractors ... except for one who still needs to cut down some standing deadwood before it falls on my neighbor's house but I will hear him before I see him.
