You know that Jeopardy theme song?
It's called "Think Music", and it was written by Merv Griffin - he says it took him 30 seconds to write.

A correspondent on CNN who had interviewed Merv Griffin says Griffin claimed that song earned him 60-70 million dollars.

When Griffin sold the show, he kept the rights to the song. Every time it's been played on TV, Merv got a check.

2. Heard that story before -- it's a pretty simple ditty to be worth all that money!
The theme didn't even have any lyrics!

Griffin was also a shrewd real estate investor. Sorry he has passed away. I watched his show so much I felt I knew him. RIP, Merv.

5. That's amazing!
When they had the TV stars on that show the questions were way too easy. Easier than when children are on the show.

6. I didn't know that.
God only knows how much Griffin earned from "Jeopardy" alone.

That's interesting about "Think Music" (that's the music they play during Final Jeopardy, correct?)

8. Paul Anka had a similar deal
He got something like $2500 each time "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" started up.
