2. and now how am I going to go on today

6. But the sonnet...
tells how his mistress is nothing special to look at or listen to; yet still rare. I suspect she still does the laundry. ;-)

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

10. By Grabthar's Hammer.
When he says that line in "Galaxy Quest," when he's opening the supermarket: the look on his face, along with his enunciation, is simply priceless. You can almost touch the revulsion and self-loathing. Comic genius.

Quote posted on IMDB:
Sir Alexander Dane: You're just going to have to figure out what it wants. What is its motivation?
Jason Nesmith: It's a rock monster. It doesn't have motivation.
Sir Alexander Dane: See, that's your problem, Jason. You were never serious about the craft.

15. You haven't seen it!

It's great on so many levels, and it's the perfect vehicle for a snarky Rickman.

Cheers

16. I'd forgotten about "Dogma"
After the not-so-little one goes to bed, I think I'll watch it.

And if you really want to see Dogma, get the special edition, and watch the Deleted Scenes, where they debate the allegorical nature Star Wars. "Dude, you're retarded! The Ewoks clearly represent a pre-Christian, naturalist, Celtic religion, whereas the Empire represents the early Roman Catholic Church!"

Also: the abortion clinic scene contains what is simultaneously the most offensive line, and the funniest, that I have ever heard.

21. My favortie quote from Dogma

Metatron: However, if you should decide to stop being selfish and accept your responsibility, you won't be alone. You'll have support.
Bethany: What, more angels?
Metatron: Prophets. Although they don't quite get it yet. You'll know them right away: one speaks, the other listens. The one who speaks -- and he will, at great lengths, whether you want him to or not -- will make mention of himself as a prophet. The other one won't say anything, but he'll be helpful just the same.

I just love the look on Rickman's face as he is saying it.

Cheers

17. Highly underrated, wasn't it?
Kind of like the TV series "King of the Hill:" you either get it or you don't.

Maybe, in GQ's case, it was because no matter how silly it got or how amazing the special effects were, so much of the humor was dry and understated.
