We said good riddance to Richard Nixon. Harry Truman once said, "Richard Nixon is a no good, lying bastard. He can lie out of both sides of his mouth at the same time, and if he ever caught himself telling the truth, he'd lie just to keep his hand in."

August 8, 1974. I was only 7, but I remember the coverage vividly. I knew it was a big deal. I felt a change in the air.

Too bad Truman died in 1972, and never got to see Nixon humiliated and driven from office.

and my family was coming back from the beach. I remember my dad stopping to get a paper with the huge headline: NIXON RESIGNS.
I'm hoping for a little deja vu this summer, but I'm afraid I'm going to be sorely disappionted.
