Seriously, is the liver supposed to be white like the English white feather bit or yellow to make a double insult of the person being a drunk coward ? What's the story, what color is either the lilie or the liver , or both on shrub supposed to be ?

Way back when, and I'm not making this up, the liver was supposed to be the seat of human personality attributes. The red humor (blood) in the liver was supposed to signify courage. If the liver was devoid of blood, it became white-thus cowardly.
