Was Gilligan's hair dyed?

Been watching on DVD and I wonder if his hair was dyed black, like Elvis's.

3. Thanks, Shine.

I guess it's POSSIBLE his hair was really that color, but I doubt it.

4. Feh. Amateur!
Need I remind you that episode 76 http://www.tv.com/gilligans-island/hair-today-gone-tomorrow/episode/10186/summary.html?tag=ep_list;ep_title;76">(Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow) clearly showed Gilligan's brown hair turning white under mysterious circumstances? Mrs. Howell helpfully dyed his hair back to its rich brown color, only to have it tragically fall out soon thereafter. It was a great trauma to our friend Gilligan, and he doesn't need you questioning his follicles 41 years hence, thankyouverymuch.

And Bob Denver's appearance in The Far Out Space Nuts has no bearing on this discussion, by the way.

5. ... probably, to make him look alot younger than "Skipper" ...
... he was supposed to be a young goofy kid, IIRC ... and he really wasn't that young ...
