Van Halen, Roth to announce reunion tour
The entire state of Connecticut just had a collective orgasm.... :eyes:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20160745/

Van Halen will announce a 50-date American reunion tour with original singer David Lee Roth during a news conference in Hollywood next week, sources said.

The arena trek will begin in early October.

Roth, who split from the rock group in the mid-1980s in hopes of solo stardom, will reunite with co-founders Eddie Van Halen on guitar and brother Alex Van Halen on drums. Eddie’s teenage son Wolfgang will sub for Michael Anthony on bass.

1. What's the over/under on how long before the first show they break up again?
Van Halen themselves are apparently the only people for whom this shit isn't getting old.

2. I'll probably go see them...
I saw them every time they came through Mississippi in the late seventies and eighties, prior to Roth leaving.

I'd probably go out of curiosity.

3. Didn't they try this a couple of months ago?
Let's just say I'll believe it when I see it. (But I won't go see it.)

4. DLR will piss them off after one week
I give it that much.

I saw them in '84 (they kicked ASS!), but today's DLR just doesn't do anything for me.

7. Here's my prediction for what will happen
David Lee will be so obnoxious, he'll drive Eddie back to drinking, Eddie will have to go back to rehab and the tour will be cancelled.

Alex will be so frustrated, he'll try to poke Roth's eyes out with a drumstick, Wolfgang will try to break it up and the three of them will wind up in the county lockup.

8. Wolfgang sub for Michael Anthony?
More like Mike's been booted. He's been the only consistent member of the band and Ed just dropped him like 3rd period French. I've heard they are going to pipe in his signature background vocals too, sad. No Mike, no classic VH IMO.
