Pillockry Place?
 This is the name of a new housing development that I pass on my way to work in the mornings. Does that mean the Minister of Silly Walks, the winners of the Twit Contest, and other assorted dickheads are the ones who can live there? :hi:

I guess developers are running out of good ideas for development names...:yoiks: :P

1. The only time I've seen "pillockry" used, it was a euphemism for bullshit or
shenanigans. Do they really want to convey this message?

3. Exactly.
The word "pillock" used to mean "penis", but it's more commonly used for silly crap/bullshit/shenanigans now. My guess is that the dim bulbs who thought of the name just thought it sounded cool. :yoiks:

Maybe I should pose that question to the City Council...:P It's still under construction, so I'm sure they have time to change it....

5. Nah. Let it be named thusly, and pass into infamy.
Hey, at least its subtle. We've got a "Lickinghole Road" around here!

All public names should be reviewed by a panel of 12 year old boys - if they even giggle, the name is out.

2. That's because it sounds better than "The Pines at Toxic Acres"
The Ministry of Silly Walks has been replaced by the Ministry of Silly Subdivison Names. Didn't you get the memo?

7. Well, of course. There are no pines at Toxic Acres! Well, kind of.
There are evergreens. And they look a lot like pine trees, and they smell a lot like pine trees. Of course, the pinecones scream and the trees are 600 feet tall, but they are "pine-ish."
