Maine's First Hybrid Taxi Fleet
ROCKLAND (Aug 6):
Maine’s first hybrid taxi fleet is right here in the Mid Coast area. Schooner Bay Taxi of Rockland Maine is proud to announce the addition of 4 hybrid taxis to there daily fleet of taxis. On Saturday August 4, 2007 Schooner Bay Taxi unveiled 2 of their 4 new Toyota Prius hybrid taxis during the Rockland Lobster Festivals 60th Parade, by noontime on Saturday all 4 of the new hybrid taxis were providing service to area travelers to as far away as Portland and Bar Harbor.

Schooner Bay Taxi is planning on using all of the hybrids year round while utilizing some of their current Ford Windstard mini vans for larger parties in need of transportation. Schooner Bay also has a 14 passenger bus, a 10 passenger(discount)limo and a Lincoln Towncar sedan in their fleet as well as 4 tow trucks under the name of Schooner Bay Towing, Inc.

1. Very cool!
Every time I have to take a taxi, it seems that it's either a mini-van or some hulking, boat-like vehicle. x(
