I feel I ought to do the same thing.

And mine isn't run of the mill, and a book about a run of the mill person would be boring.

Just think "Dave Pelzer squared". His book "A Child Called It" was an eye-opener, but other people with other conditions may have something to say that would help others.

Besides, that or helping some 21 year old college prat get a B on his psychology class, I've helped other people all my life despite getting spat on. We are a capitalist society, so why not. If some DINO can create a mundane kitty litter box and become a millionaire off of it (I met the guy; DINO was an understatement...)

Sorry for the stream of consciousness. Time to get the "anti-alcohol-intoxication" pill. :D

1. why not?
Start writing it all down!

At the very least, it would be cathartic for you - and it probably WOULD help others.

You've dealt with a lot in your life, including a lot of adversity - and yet you've kept your great sense of humour (ok - sometimes it's a little whacked - but so is everyone else's in the Lounge).

5. Whacked? Whacked! There is nothing in my life that gets whacked!
I mean, that is whacked... wait, that sounds just as dirty too...

2. I think you should get started - why not?
My husband has had an interesting life, as well. He wants to write an autobiography called "From Vampire to Shrink" (he came to this country with a medical degree, got his foot in the door at a hospital as a phlebotomist, and now he's a respected psychiatric researcher). Come up with a good title and the rest may follow!

3. Great idea! From the bits and piece of your life that you have mentioned here, I think it would be
very helpful to others- especially if you made it auto-biographical and included useful and informative articles about aspers.eczema, etc.

Also, you have a good sense of humor that would make a lot of serious topics that are sometimes tedious to read become palatable.

It is fun to write - because it can't be wrong - if you say a character has green hair - then they do - because they are YOUR characters.

Good luck and keep us posted on how it is all coming along.

8. Thank you!
I am starting on it now; putting in key quotes and quick types of life incidents as I recall them. As I flesh out more details, they will be written in a coherent manner.

I am aiming to deploy to prospective publishers by year's end.

And I will be fully honest, there were incidents in my life of which I was the cause and not a symptom of. These have to be included for accuracy, and I won't embellish a thing.

6. If it was made into a movie, who would play you?
Might be a thread in and of itself :)

Thought about doing the same thing myself, but would not know where to start.

9. .

I wanna say Dan Akroyd as I've been said to look like him too...

Perhaps Jim Carrey, if he still has the physiological stamina. I was somewhat animated as a child.

13. For reference purposes and how the fit into AS and what others can look for.
This isn't going to be a vain diary; I want to help other people who have it and their families who might see similarities and try to understand the differences.

And not entirely out of spite as plenty of Aspies can help the college kiddies. I've been tested for a strong linguistic quotient. Properly applied, I think I have a fair chance at selling at least 2 copies.

Though I will try to recover some of my old blog entries and incorporate them too...
