Texas state quarter
I just saw this at another message board:

WASHINGTON,D.C. -- Hang on to any of the new State of Texas quarters. If you have them, they may be worth much more than 25 cents. The U.S. Treasury announced today that it is recalling all of the Texas quarters that are part of its program featuring quarters from each state.

"We are recalling all the new Texas quarters that were recently issued," Treasury, Under Secretary Jack Shackleford said Monday. "This action is being taken after numerous reports that new quarters will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending machines, pay phones, or other coin-operated devices."

The quarters were issued in the order in which the various states joined the U.S. and have been a tremendous success among coin collectors worldwide. "The problem lies in the unique design of the Texas quarter, which was created by a Texas A&M graduate," Shackleford said "Apparently, the duct tape holding the two dimes and the nickel together keeps jamming the coin-operated devices."

:D

2. Yeah right
Texans know enough about Aggies not to let them design anything representing the entire state. If these guys designed the quarter they would figure out some way to place veiled references to that cult they call a school all over it. Can you believe these guys think that their corps of cadets is the last line of defense for the US? Sure they are, them and my little sister's girl scout troop.

Proud not to be an Aggie

4. Good point. I had to do research at the A&M Library once
So I witnessed firsthand the brownshirt Corps of Cadets parading around campus. It was a very enlightening experience for a junior in high school. Convinced me I never wanted to go to A&M. Ever.

12. Thank the gods, I have never had to be in the bleachers..
for a game. I only made it to one game, and I was down on the sidelines with the team and coaches. Great game, the OU game last year.

7. Texas quarter?
What, no Bush on it?

DeLay and his cronies in the Texas lege will have a fit, and they'll use some kind of election fraud to correct that.
