1. Paddington

There are lots of fairly nice and fairly inexpensive places to stay around Paddington station. The location is awesome...you've got the Britrail station right there as well as a Tube station which has lots of connections.

I've stayed at the Shakespeare and thought it was a good deal:

Only problem? We got the ensuite restroom and it was Very small.

Some of them the 2 stars in particular are very reasonable, I stayed in one right in the center awhile back it was full of American tourists and was really cheap but I can't remember the name damn it.
