loungers, tell me about your ideal romantic getaway
elrond hubbard and i have a rendezvous planned in nyc in a few weeks. it's always been a dream of mine to spend time in the city with someone who is very special to me.

so, loungers, tell me. where would you go and why? be it with someone you were gonna meet for the first time, a new flame or a long-time love.

1. Maybe go to NOLA
or to DC or even to Nashville... or somewhere in Virginia or North Carolina

or Oregon or Washington, or Ft. Collins Colorado :P

it would depend on the person of course

but right now I'd lean towards somewhere with water or mountains.

;)

7. i like vegas...the wynn, especially
i had to go to the golden nuggat last weekend for a brief meeting - the smoke was horrendous!
i was just joking around...i like secluded beaches with western views, incredibly tasty meals, and crisp, high count cotton sheets on top of soft pillow mattresses.....ahhhhhh, thats what i like.

4. I've lived and worked in places that many would probably

see as the kind of ideal 'romantic' spot they'd like to go with their love, and there's no question that some of the attributes of those locations appeal tremendously to me (though also in just an inherent way). The reality, for me, is that the ideal romantic getaway is to be with the woman I love, wherever that may be and whatever we may or may not be doing. The location and just about everything else are largely irrelevant. Love is pretty much transcendent...if it's a nice spot, so much the better, but if we were to meet in the middle of an ugly, hot, stinky steel mill the greatest sparks would be those between us and nothing else, in that moment, would matter.

I hope that you two have a wonderful time. I know you will.

I would love to stay here: http://www.pangkorlautresort.com/estates_intro.htm

From the site:
The island itself is already well-known as the location of the world renowned Pangkor Laut Resort, a destination that has drawn critical acclaim since it was created in the nineties.

The Resort is a beautifully rustic enclave that provides five star luxury within a two million year-old rain forest, and includes the award-winning Spa Village; a spa that combines the healing arts of India, China and Malaysia into a therapeutic offering that was voted by the readers of Conde Nast as being the world's best.

I feel more relaxed just looking at the pictures.

18. Great Barrier Reef
I went on a cruise to the Great Barrier Reef alone about 10 years ago. It was fantastic. Snorkeling, glass bottom boat, remote beaches. I'd like to go again with my husband (of 37 years).

20. Well first I'd dress up like a pirate...
After that I'd abscond with the queen of all things beautiful. O8)

Umm, once we are together, I have no preference as long as we are together enjoying each other. This would last for some time; after which, I would spirit her back to her life. We'd then continue to proceed as planned before the getaway.

*sigh*

23. In the unlikely event that I find someone who'll love me
I think it would probably depend on what we like doing together when we plan a romantic getaway ...what our interests and tastes are.

BTW, I hope you and Elrond enjoy NY. I stayed in Manhattan a few years when I visited the US and I thoroughly loved every moment
