List the unwritten rules of videogaming!
Here's two to start off with:

1. There is no such thing as overkill.

2. If you are over 40, challenging your 14-year old nephew is suicide.

If you're UNDER 40, losing to your nephew is one of the biggest mistakes you can ever make!

..I must challenge them. And I must win. :p

5. Thou shall triple buffer....
Thou shalt not utilize Nvidia nor ATI specific effects lest thine tech support be flooded with support calls.

Thou shalt not make unauthorized football games lest the holy wrath of the NFL descend upon thee.

Thou shalt not design extremely low lit games to increase spookiness, as the lord has decreed that shooting dark gray patches on black blasphemous.

Thou shall pray on the altar of Bullfrog.

Thou shalt not make games that only hardware of the future can properly play, for that makes thee an ass.

Thou shalt not make games in java, for that also makes thee an ass.

Should thou fail in these commandments thou shalt be banished to the nether hells of the lower cube farm of Electronic Arts to code mesh routines for the next Madden game.

6. Just thought of another one...
Any creature that gets between the TV and me, causing me to lose a life, is grounds for homicide.

7. I didn't own a game console until I was 40
and I'm such a loser at it. I enjoy playing - I now have a Wii, an Xbox360 and a PS2, but I just cannot figure out first-person shooters. I like adventure games, but I have no mental map of where I am - I walk into a room, right some critter, and then I have no idea which way I came in. So I spend a LOT of time going back over places I've already been to.

The only time I ever really tried Xbox live, I joined a group playing Crimson Skies. After a few minutes, the kids very politely kicked me off. It was like being back in high school.
