2. I have. Ask away.
Keep in mind, tho, I had a thread deleted today because it had turned into medical advice-giving, which wasn't really my intention.

6. I didn't experience that.
But I only had one polyp excised.

13. I had one last year. No polyps, just one little diverticulum (Is that the singular?)

I watched the whole thing on closed circuit TV.

It was fascinating. I know, it's not for everyone.

PS. The same doctor is scheduled to look at my esophagus on Monday, 7/31. No, I won't be awake... that one requires conscious sedation.

17. I didn't have sedation for an upper-GI endoscopy.
I showed up no knowing I needed another person to accompany me out if they sedated me, so I let them do it without sedating me. I wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance to do it again, but it wasn't so bad.

For the colonoscopy, I was glad to be sedated!

7. I don't know.
I don't want to alarm you, but pooping blood? I'm not sure that's normal.

8. Call your gastroenterologist or any doctor. Go to see a doctor tonight.
Not to scare you. Some is normal especially if they took biopsies. Just have a doctor consult with you.

11. Don't worry about being a pain or a hypochondriac. Call them and at the very least
talk to a nurse who has experience with colonoscopy. Hopefully, see the doctor that performed it, or at least talk to him on the phone.

but if it seemed excessive to me to call. I had little bleeding, but nothing was removed. You should call.

12. Are you still posting?? Go... NOWWW!!
I believe it is to be expected that you experience some bloody stool but not LOTS of blood. Normally it should stop all on its own but... SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T!! You need to do something.

I think you should call your doctor. Call the doctors office even if you know they are closed. They should have someone on call for this kind of situations. Leave your name and phone number and if they don't call in 30 minutes go to the Emergency Room. They will contact your doctor and determine the best course of action.

now with the endoscopy they dilated me once and tore my esophagus and i ended up in the hospital

but sure, they are snipping tissue from your colon, it might bleed.

16. I've had two, but nothing was removed for analysis so I never experienced
any kind of bleeding at all. If it's as excessive as I'm imagining, I would certainly be concerned enough to at least give the doctor a call right away - he should be able to make a reasonable diagnosis based on a detailed description from you...good luck.

19. I had zero blood
Two sessile polyps with no bleeding were found in the rectum. The polyps were 4 mm in size. Polypectomy was performed with cold forceps. Resection and retrival were complete.

An ulcerated partially obstructing large mass was found in the proximal transverse colon. This was the same mass seen on EGD. It appears to have originated in the colon and ulcerated into the stomach. The colonoscope passed into the stomach indicating a fistula between the colon and the stomach

All that, and no blood in the stool. Make a phone call PRONTO.

20. I bet some people are more suceptible to bleeding than others. That said,
I hope you've called your doctor. Better safe than sorry.
