Last night, I got a call from my friend Linda that my radio colleague Ken Jordan had died. I stayed on the phone with Linda, who was close friends with Kenny, for an hour trying to calm her down. In fact, I posted about Ken to the Lounge last night:

Today, I log on to DU and learn that liberalhistorian had to have her kitten put to sleep. And now I read that my childhood icon, Captain Kangaroo, is dead.

2. Sorry NightTrain, I read your post last night and...

tried to send condolences, but my dialup was real wiggy last night and kept disconnecting. I had a feeling about Liberalhistorians' kitten and have not yet read the most recent post. That was very sad for them both. As far as Captain Kangaroo goes, well, I understand that Grandfather Clock stopped at the exact time of his death. I know that era well, having grown up with the Captain, Mr. Greenjeans, Grandfather Clock, Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose. I still reminisce fondly about those times. Hugs, things have to get better.
