Please help a fellow DUer
I lost two dog last year to strokes, they were keeshhounds 10 years old (they were brothers). I vowed never to have another pet, Until today. I fell in love with one of the best dog I have ever seen. She is a year old comes from a very abusive owner (thats why I took her to give her the love she needs & deserves).

Heres my problem, they named her shadow, it does not fit her, I want to give her a good name. She is a mix of doberman & Lab & just so adorable. When I took her to the vets to get her shots up to date the vet said it was not to late to change her name.

Can you all give me some good names to choose from?

6. In this political season
I guess "Laberman" would be too easy.

Congratulations on your new dog and I hope she helps to fill the void left by your incredible loss.

I don't care what anyone says, pets are part of your family (just like a family member to me.)

9. If She's Been Called Shadow for A Year You Should Stick W/
Something similar so as not to confuse her, especially if she's already responding to Shadow.

My Dad got a dog that had previous owners and had to change the dogs name because it was the same name as his wife. He stuck w/ something similar and it worked out fine...

17. 2 syllable names are good
I read somewhere that dogs respond best to 2 syllable names. Especially if she's already been called by one.

How about something similar: Meadow, Frodo (boy's name, but the dog won't care!), Pharaoh, Bolo... etc.?

13. Do you have any female relatives you loved dearly?
Or someone you find an inspiration? You could name her after them. Also you could choose a name like Hope since she was obviously hoping for someone like you.
