3. I had a friend who was a video engineer, and he...
...made me a version of Top Gun with all the filler cut out. Just 45 minutes or so of great flying scenes, with no BS romantic subplot or bathetic post-Goose grief and self-doubt. It was a magical film.

5. It's stupid that Cruise's character gets off with Kelly McGillis' character
when the obvious sexual tension is all between Cruise's Maverick and Kilmer's Ice Man.

Copycatting is a time honored Lounge passtime. We take a popular thread, such as:

change a word or two in the title, and let it go. Usually to get a laugh, or make obvious sexual references.

Top Gun the movie was not very good. I dont recommend it.
