If you could choose ONE (1) Prescription Rx
What would it be? You have to throw the others away. For the rest of your life, you get but one.

45. I don't know, but...
I can't take them. They have opposite effect on me, keeps me up and in the morning I get the worst hangover, head spinning, groggy, all fogged up. So I gave up on them. They work fine for other people I know. Maybe they just don't mix with my other meds.:puke:

61. it's one step beyond oxycontin...
morphine sulfate continuous dosage (whereas oxylimbaugh or 'oxycontin' stands for oxycodone continuous dosage)

i'm not at that level yet, but may be at some point- so if it's the only pill i'll get, i'll have to stick with the heavy hitter.

i used to take oxycontin- it's like a time-release codeine, with lots of layers, like a mini-jawbreaker, and as it dissolves in your system it releases the opiates gradually...but- if you chew it, you get all the great-tasting codiene at once yum!(chewed, actually, they've supposedly changed the formulation to prevent this)...but for me, it got to be too expensive without insurance- so now it's methadone, vicoprofen, cyclobenzaprine, prednisone, ibuprofen, 222's, and a bit(ok- quite a bit) of weed- but that isn't a prescription here in illinois, yet...

the condition is ankylosing spondylitis- a slow fusion of the spine. mine went un/mis-diagnosed for a couple of decades, when pot and ibuprofen were my only relief. it started in my lumbar & cervical spine, went into 'remission'(?) for awhile, and now it's getting pretty serious about my thoracic.

and then there's the migraines...

the good news is that i'm probably a shoe-in for one of the future "bodyworlds" exhibits at a museum near you.

Edited on Sun Jul-15-07 06:27 PM by Blue_In_AK
I had some left over around here for a while that I got when I had a stress fracture in my foot, and I really liked taking it when I had a lot of typing to do (I'm a legal transcriptionist) because it keeps me from getting cramps in my arms. I know a lot of people get drowsy with it, but for me it keeps me awake and feeling no pain -- and as a byproduct, typing like the wind and making no mistakes. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. (All those drugs in my youth have given me great tolerance, I guess.) :hippie:

I have it prescribed for me for ADD and it lasts longer and is about 50% stronger than the highest dose of Adderall. Very hard to get a script for it and it is a controlled substance just like the adderall. It's basically legal modified methamphetamine
