Would it be worth is to have a job posting forum on DU?
Someplace where people could post jobs they see in their parts of the country that may interest others? Or if someone needs to hire someone they could post an ad in the forum? Or post resumes for others to view?

Crazy idea or what?

2. My dear graywarrior!
I think that's an excellent idea...

I know there is a marketplace forum, but I think that's for selling stuff, not jobs...

I don't know how you would get such a forum up, though...

I guess I'd go to Skinner, and ask!

Good luck, sweetie!

3. Yeah, it would be nice to have
And we could then be sure that the job wasn't in an office full of RW assholes.

5. That sounds cool!

It's really, really difficult to find a job in the field of "sitting around posting inane things and trying on different dresses." Maybe other parts of the country would offer more accomodating options.

6. There are so many jobs out there that people never know about because they are not advertised.
I thought that if someone heard about some position for the company or organization they worked for, they could post it here.

I'll ask Skinner what he thinks.

7. That would be a superb idea.
I think someone needs to create a statement about what kind of forum this would be. And then get recommendations.

Put me down for one of the recs. This is a great idea. :-)

12. I think it could like a help wanted forum.
Part of it could be job listings and another part could be resume posting. Maybe flag progressive companies and organizations or rate companies with a 5 star rating system.

Or, just any old job that pays well (hahahhaa)

10. Job postings are great. Resumes maybe.
I worry that some asshat freeper would call up a place listed on a posted resume to report the activities of DUers. But posting job opportunities sounds great.

11. Maybe not list past & present jobs. Only supply that info if someone expresses interest.

16. definitely a very good idea....
A Help Wanted forum or something like that would be great. Every once in a while we need some programming help, and I'd love to have a central forum to ask about jobs.
