41. Question about spaying ...

My two baby girls are going in this weekend. How invasive is it these days? Stitches? Shaving? Recover?

Our other three were fixed when we got them. The girls had to wait because of their size and they had colds when we got them.

43. No stitches. They use surgical glue. Yes shaving.

Watch them very carefully, Ronny. O'Malley and Miranda had to wear cones for two weeks because they worried their wounds so much. The shaved area seems to become itchy immediately.

But have hope -- these were the first any of my kittens have had to wear cones in about 10 female house cats (in 25 years).

We plan on keeping them in the spare room while they recover. Too much playing with the other cats might mess up their surgery wounds. I don't think they will feel like running around much anyway.

48. Exactly - good man, you do need to keep them calm.

But do go in to spend time with them and play a little with them. And you don't need to keep them shut up for a long time; a couple of days ought to do it. Let me know how they fare, will you, please? :hug:

Dukie is learning to tolerate Maya's playfulness. He acts all annoyed with her and smacks her down sometimes, but I think he is secretly enjoying it. He seems younger than ever!

Actually, Spencer's the one sprawled out on his back. I love that picture because it shows how far he's come...when I got him he was semi-feral and really, really skittish. Obviously, he's better with humans now. ;)

one day I brought some rocks home to decorate the yard.I left them in the front room intending to put them out back later. When I got up in the morning I found Thrawn laying with his head on the biggest rock. I couldn't take them away from him so they stayed until he finally tired of them. He even used to bat them around:-)
