I wanna be just like her when I grow up!

on edit: Not sure if Slappy qualifies as Looney Toons, but she is a Warner Bros. character anyway.

8. Bugs Bunny! Bugs Bunny! Rah! Rah! Rah!
We had a morning kid show host in Minneapolis, "Axel", who would get all the kids chanting this at the top of their lungs.

My wife loves Daffy Duck, but for me it's all Bugs.

12. Okay, for discussion: bowdlerization of WB toons
I hate this. Seems to have begun back in the 80s, under the misapprehension that "Cartoons are for kids!" So they started cleaning 'em up. Whereas actually of course these toons up until the 60s anyway were designed to run before the feature film in regular movie houses for grown ups. So some bright idiot decided they needed to be cleaned up or something. And that of course opened the door to the PC-ification of them. Which in turn led to the obliteration of one of my all-time fave Yosemite Sam lines.

"Ah'm th' roughest, toughest, he-man stuffest hombre as ever crossed the Rio Grand-ee.

An I don't mean Mahatma Gand-ee!"

The kicker line to which now appears as

"An I ain't no namby-pamby." Which isn't funny. And I don't think the mere reference to Mahatma is in any way disparaging or disrespectful. I mean, these aren't SUPPOSED to be respectful of anything. But either they decided a) Kids don't know who Mahatma Gandi is; or b) Oooh, I don't know, somebody might be offended, better take it out. But either way, it SUCKS.

14. They've Been "Sanitized"
A common schtick in many WB cartoons was for a character to see something bizarre, look at the camera, say "Well, now I've seen everything!, pull out a gun and shoot themselves in the head. They've all been cut from the toons they're sshowing now on Cartoon Network.

Then there's the Bugs & Elmer cartoon with the dream sequence where Bugs gets into Elmer's dream and messes with his head by getting Elmer dressed up as a woman. Originally, Bugs took sleeping pills to get into Elmer's dream - they just cut that part right out.

They've also eliminated the blackface scenes, such as the Bugs Bunny cartoon that originally ended with a minstrel show.

Not so much in the Roadrunner cartoons. But remember the one where he talks and sounds intelligentsia-snobbish. Wile E. Coyote--Genius! That has got to be one of my favorites.
