But, they gave her some interesting potential should she and Doc run into each other again. And, she has a marvelously disfunctional family to encourage her to split this planet.

Meanwhile, this intern he's packing off with now is a very interesting change-- the Doctor's past companions haven't been nearly as educated or sophisticated as she is. Makes for some new possibilities.

6. You're in for one incredible season.

Sorry, I've already seen the entire season, including the season climax (no spoilers). Even though I still miss Rose, his new companion proves to be every bit as good. Many things are resolved, and some old friends return for visits.

In other words, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A GREAT TIME WATCHING THE ENTIRE SEASON!

Its on the BBC a year ahead of what we see on scifi... No spoilers, but people who are into the remake need to remember that in the original, "the dr" changed actors, as did his companions.. The cast is not set in stone...

That said, I wonder if they will ever do a female Dr.. Id kinda like to see the red haired 'weakest link' lady as a Dr... Would be fun...

15. Robinson? No, for goodness' sake NO!!!

They gave her a cameo as a robot in series 2 of the new run, I think ,and it was awful. She's a jumped-up gossip columnist. She can't act to save her life.

However, they did have, during the Tom Baker era, Romana, a 'Time Lady' - see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romana . 2 actresses played her, since she regenerated in proper Time Lord style. She was good (I reckon those stories were better than most), but I think the change to a woman just wouldn't fit the Doctor.
