Update on Tantris, my chow chow.
The doc is going to leave him on the prednisone as needed (every other day or every day if not effective). He said at his age, the steroids (let's hope Bush doesn't get wind of my dog using steroids) would not likely cause any problems before he dies of old age anyway. He has to spend another week or so on antibiotics for his bladder, but otherwise he is really getting around well and pretty much back to his old self again.

Thanks everyone for your support last week. Between the dog being sick and my little ear lobe accident it was just a shitty week and I appreciate the kind words.

1. What earlobe accident?
If there is a thread on it, please post it, thanks. Hope you are OK, and best wishes on your chow.

3. Oh, I had a little accident that caused me to get 17 stitches last week.
And damn near lopped off my earlobe.

5. Ouch. Farm accident?
That must have hurt like hell. Any meds to help with the pain?

2. Note on prednisone...
it'll make him pee like anything.

I had a dog on it once, and I rushed him to the emergency vet because he was peeing all the time - I thought he had a bladder infection. I told the receptionist he was on prednisone and she saved me a couple hundred bucks by sending me home.
