Men of DU: Do you look absurd with a beard?
Well, I seem to. Day Four, and I'm starting to suspect the worst.

How about you?

1. Robb is a dingbat...oh no wait, sorry. My husband has a beard
and I find it quite attractive. He shaves it off every once in awhile and it's almost like getting a new husband! Try it out....let it grow. :hi:

4. I look quite fetching with a beard. But it's too much bother....
to take care of.

Hang in there a couple more days, Robb.

Shaved mine off last fall after 28 years. Starting to regret it.

10. No, I look real good
I'm on day 10 with mine, but I never get much past that because it starts to itch me something fierce. I do on the other hand usually keep my soul patch intact.

11. I just grew one.
Mainly in a vain attempt to cover up some weight gain.

My wife laughed at me, my boss's assistant says it makes me look "rugged".

I can't decide whether I'll keep it or just try to lose some *@)&# weight.

Of course I don't. I've had a beard since I was a senior in High School. Made it easy to buy beer then, too. :)

26. Or a nineteenth-century president. Or a 1970s baseball player.
Or, in the case of that photo at the Neumann office that made the AP wire, a "damn hippie, how's anyone going to take you seriously."

22. I have had a beard since 1979
except for one week in 1980. It takes about a month for my beard to really come in and look good. I currenlty trim the thing every two weeks. Have patience. Give it some more time. If you don't like it after a month then cut it off!!!!!

My wife likes my beard. I have had thoughts over the years to cut it off but she protests too much so I have not cut it off. She has only seen me once without it and that was when I cut it off in 1980.

after the damn thing turned white (when I turned 44), I shaved it off rather than resorting to "Grecian Formula"

28. I shaved mine off once, when my daughter was five
She took one look and started crying. I can take a hint. I started growing it back the next day, and have had one ever since.

Besides, without a beard, I look like a walking, talking fetus.

Well, I can vaguely. I just prefer me with beard, even if it does itch occasionally.
