Dumbest Country Song Ever
Artist/Band: Adkins Trace
Lyrics for Song: Honky Tonk Badonkadonk
Lyrics for Album: Songs About Me
Turn it up some
Alright boys, this is her favorite song
You know that right
So, if we play it good and loud
She might get up and dance again
Ooh, she put her beer down
Here she comes
Here she comes
Left left left right left
Whoo

Husslers shootin' eightball
Throwin' darts at the wall
Feelin' damn near 10 ft. tall
Here she comes, Lord help us all
Ol' T.W.'s girlfriend done slapped him outta his chair
Poor ole boy, it ain't his fault
It's so hard not to stare
At that honky tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on
That honky tonk badonkadonk
(Aww son)

Now Honey, you can't blame her
For what her mama gave her
You ain't gotta hate her
For workin' that money-maker
Band shuts down at two
But we're hangin' out till three
We hate to see her go
But love to watch her leave
With that honky tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on
With that honky tonk badonkadonk
(Ooh, that's what I'm talkin' bout right there, honey)

We don't care bout the drinkin'
Barely listen to the band
Our hands, they start a shakin'
When she gets the urge to dance
Drivin' everybody crazy
You think you fell in love
Boys, you better keep your distance
You can look but you can't touch
That honkey tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on
That honky tonk badonkadonk

That honky tonk badonkadonk
Yeah, that honky tonk badonkadonk

(That's it, right there boys, that's why we do what we do
It ain't for the money, it ain't for the glory, it ain't for the free whiskey
It's for the badonkadonk)

3. I was going to say . . .
Finding the dumbest country song ever would be like finding the most misguided Republican or the most overpaid CEO.

And that one is pretty dayum'd DUMB.

7. Them's fightin' words
There are plenty of country artists who have intelligent lyrics and tons of artistic cred. Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Jason Ringenberg, Maria McKee, the Knitters, Mike Ness...

9. Isn't Mike Ness...
from Social Distortion? They're not country, but they did do a really awesome cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire."

I hate mainstream country, but I do love me some alternative country. Old 97's, Son Volt, Wilco, Drive-By Truckers. Especially Old 97's and Wilco.

11. Solo work
Mike Ness' solo albums are very definitely country. Social D has a lot of country overtones, but "Cheating at Solitaire", "Under the Influences", etc, are closer to country than most of what comes out of Nashville today.

8. Oh that song is horrendous!
When I was sitting on the other side of the office, I'd have to endure my co-workers playing the local country station (why do we have country stations on MD? lol)... They played that fucking song every day.... :scared:

20. Kill me. Kill me now.
I heard the song after seeing this thread. Clearly the thread is to blame, and I wouldn't have heard the song if I hadn't read it.

This song is so bad that not only am I dumber for having heard it; we're all dumber simply because it exists.

I plan to drive a railroad spike into each ear until they touch somewhere in the middle. Perhaps then, then I will be free of this song.

21. The absolute worst country song ever written
"Have You Forgetten" by Darryl Worley (or something like that)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_-x9kMPauc

Ironically, it was the Chimp he worships who forgot about Bin Laden.

23. I have listened to Country from time to time...
and its dumb ass songs like that (which I haven't heard thank goodness) and the mindless jingoistic songs from people like Toby Keith that keep me from listening to current stuff.
There are however some very clever and interesting stuff in country, if you have the patience to slog through some of the other crap (my favorite being one called "Revenge of the Middle-Aged Woman". Funny and clever if you ask me.
