Noisy kids in the pool? You can go to jail

Bayville couple in hot water over pool noise

June 20, 2007

A Bayville couple could face jail time because angry neighbors claim their daughters play too loudly in their backyard.

William and Rachel Poczatek must enter a plea in village court today after their neighbors complained to the village that the Poczateks' two daughters, aged 5 and 11, were making too much noise around the family's pool.

3. The next town over
has a Sun City over-55 development. When a developer wanted to zone the property next door for single and multi-family housing, the Sun City folks went nuts. Why? Because a family development ment, well, families--complete with kids. The seniors didn't want to be bothered by the noise of kids playing on the other side of the fence. The new developer won, with the city council claiming that the potential for future complaints was not enough to block the new housing that the city needed. If the noise ever lasted past sundown, the seniors were more than welcome to call the police.

If it is so loud, why doesn't the neighbor just wear earplugs, or even better, talk rationally with the parents and try to set things up so the girls' "pool time" doesn't conflict with his nap time?

5. Ah yes, good old Bayville. got a ticket there for going 38 in a 35 mph zone...
lovely place full of north shore snobs. what I find amusing about this is the beach is probably less then 1/2 mile from this womans home.

but then on the other hand, the people that complained are just as dim, that is beach tourist town in the summer and they got bent out of shape over kids playing in the pool?

love to be in attendance in that court room, should be lots of laughs all around.
