Hey, go easy on Angelina Jolie. She's thin because her mom passed away.
From TMZ.com:

Angelina Jolie is just about the only woman in the universe (well, aside from Nicole Richie) who isn't taking kindly to being called "thin" -- because she's been dropping pounds over the death of her mom, Marcheline Bertrand, earlier this year

At the premiere of "A Mighty Heart" in New York, Angie told reporters, as Us reports, "Instead of people saying I look like a person dealing with something emotionally, they assume it's because I want to fit into skinny jeans. Someone saying to me that I'm thin is not a compliment." Angie adds that she just stopped breastfeeding and that she's having trouble getting her nutrition back on track.

1. Well, I certainly never said it in a catty way
I was concerned because she's always looked so slim and athletically healthy - I wondered if she'd been sick. But realistically, most of the time when you see Hollywood types who are very thin, it IS because they want to fit into skinny jeans.

3. Agreed, many do.
I admire her for not following that trend.

2. well, I said she looked thin, but
I didn't assign a motive to it. How the hell would I know why she was thin?

4. Apologies if you misunderstood...my post wasn't directed at you
Actually it wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just thought people might want to know why she's so thin nowadays.

5. I said just yesterday...
...that I thought she looked stressed in the picture that was posted, and had lost weight from stress. (I tend to do that myself.) I attributed it to keeping up with her kids, though. Guess it makes sense now. Hope she goes easy on herself and puts her focus on recovery for a while now.

6. I'd have a difficult time going easy on Angelina
In fact, she'd get nothing short of a vigorous pounding

7. Thanks. That's good to know.
I was a bit concerned about why she was so thin. I hope she recovers soon from her stress.

10. People respond to stress differently
me? I usually tend to eat MORE when I'm stressed out. To each, their own....

I had noticed, however, how extraordinarily thin she's been looking. In one pix I saw of her recently, her elbow bones were really sticking out. Yikes!

13. I thought it was because of all that lo-cal cuisine in the French Quarter
impossible to find a dang thing to eat down there besides salads and yogurt smoothies. :sarcasm:

15. Yeah you rite! She and Brad are the two most prominent new New Orleanians
They bought a house down by the French Market for $3.75M, chump change for A-list celebs. I'm thinking it was mostly Brad's idea, since he's been involved in community redevelopment in the Lower Ninth Ward.

Wouldn't you know, if I ever went back to town and met them, I'd probably be closer to him, since he's the neighborhood activist. Go figure. :eyes:

I hear you about the fantasy, dude: there was a rumor of a breakup some weeks ago, and, well, I know the actual address to send sympathy cards 'n' stuff... (sigh)

18. People need to mind their own business about other people's bodies. She's not hurting anyone.
Actually quite the contrary.

19. whatever
i don't think too many people look like skin and bones because their mom died, in fact, i think the opposite is what you usually see -- people eating for comfort after death of a loved one

so i don't quite believe her i guess, she is a nice lady but that doesn't mean i have to believe obvious horseshit
