Does anybody else here work a part time job ?
I am currently searching a part time job. I have been employed at my full time job for 2 years now but taxes are biting my ass along with the health care benefits that they take out of my check. My budget is already tight and the only money I do have left over I save it for gas ... I only started driving a year ago and my car insurance payment is sky damn high ... its biting my ass. I have applied at so many different places , I have an interview Tuesday so fingers crossed that I get this until something else comes along. I work a 3rd shift job so I could only work 3 days a work plus the weekends ... I want to work so bad but oh well , that's life ...

Just needed to vent.

1. for about 5 years my part time job was delivering pizzas for pizza hut
easy money, easy work, 80% of the time is in your car grooving on tunes, and the units i worked at were run by cool mgrs, very flexible scheduling so i was always able to get the hours i wanted to work. and pizza.

2. I worked part time at a fast food restaurant when I first married
And graduated from college. I typically worked 2-3 hours (the lunch rush) before my second shift lab job. I usually also worked most of one of the weekend days. One of the older women that worked there part time had a third shift job and usually worked the dinner shift before she had to leave for her full time job.
A lot of people knock fast food, but I found it to be a rewarding job. Generally management is happy to have responsible hardworking adults and some customers are nice too. I made a little over 7 dollars an hour when I quit after a year, 6 years ago in a small metropolitain area.
Now, I don't think that I would work part time unless it was something that I'd almost be willing to volunteer to do. Most part time jobs here pay minimum wage and I am already exhausted working 50 hours per week.

4. The job I found sucks on one hand, and is great on the other.
I work 6 days a week for 6 weeks, then I am off a month to 2 months. Back for 6 weeks, then off again. Suits my schedule and my slacker personality. I am off for the next month right now. After being there a year (which won't happen) I could collect unemployment while I'm not working.

5. yes ma'am !!
I work f/t (40+ hrs a week) at an insurance company, and p/t (15-20) at a real estate office.
It doesn't seem like it's making much of a difference for me financially, but it is kicking my ASS in that I am always tired and don't ever seem to have time to just 'chill'.

UGH. :(
