"What the fuck were they thinking?!" moments
Ponder upon this:

The single version of the song "We Built This City" by Starship reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on November 16, 1985.

So what is your "What the fuck were they thinking?!" moment?

1. "Rocky" wins the 1976 Academy Award for Best Picture
In a year with such films as "Network" "Taxi Driver" and "The Conversation", the best picture of the year was...a run of the mill boxing movie. I still, to this day, don't understand that one.

But then again, this is the Academy Awards, so maybe I should expect this kind of thing.

didn't think much of Crash. I find it hard to believe it was best picture of the MONTH of its release, much less a year.

Not far from my ex-wife's family, there is a BJ's and a Dick's right next to each other as well. In addition to those two, there is a Seaman's furniture store in the same plaza.

So, BJ's, Dick's and Seaman's.

There's a strip mall nearby with both a dog groomer, "Doggy Style," and a sex shop. For good measure, there's a chiropractor in between them, in case you aren't doing it right. I'll be in the area today, I'll get a pic.

Trivia
Coulier was alleged to be Alanis Morissette's first lover (they met at a hockey game) and is widely suspected to be the subject of her bitter song "You Oughta Know," though neither party will confirm this. (See <1>.)

38. Choosing pebble-bed nuclear reactors over ADS reactors.
One is an improved version of the normal reactor, the other one is basically fucking incredible, and you can guess which one they chose.

(Hint: It wasn't the one that can take the nuclear waste we have now and make it benign. It's not the one that generates no long-term nuclear waste, it's the one that has lower start-up costs. Bastards all.)

If someone wants to argue "no nuclear reactors is better" - be prepared for a sound thrashing, unless whatever proposal you offer can also perform nuclear incineration and actually rid us of the nuclear waste that is currently being thrown into the ocean.

That's my "What the fuck were they fucking thinking" moment....
