13. That's dedication!
Are you in the office or at home? Do you have to work all day? How's the weather? Can you fit in a little cycling at least? :-)

15. At the office
Alas, I cannot really do my work from home. I do have to work most of the day, but at least I was able to sleep in. And at least the office is quiet.

The weather is very nice. But cycling seems out of the question today. Went riding yesterday when it wasn't so nice (cold and windy) and practically froze. Must have been in the lower 50s even without the windchill.

I don't know how you manage to ride when it's colder than that. We were lucky to make it 8 miles.

:scared: <-- How we looked after our ride yesterday.

So how about yourself? :-)

BTW, what lightweights! I only stop when it goes below 40. :P However, it is less than 20 right now, so I think I'll stick to my trainer today.

6. I'm off today
One of the few remaining benefits of being a State employee.

So far today I've fought with then made up with LynneSin. Talked to friends online. And eaten a simple lunch.

Later I'm gonna go to the gym. Then to choir practice (I'm a member of the Austin Women's Chorus).

When I get home tonight I'll sit down and watch the caucus results. Then finally before bed I'll sit down with a copy of the "I Have a Dream" speech and read it and think and try to remember why the struggle is so important.

10. Just routine
or do you suspect an issue?

I haven't had the "pleasure" yet, but I've heard from many that the worst part of the procedure is the cleansing cycle and not the scoping.

14. It's my second one - Bad family history of colon cancer
Maternal grandfather and three of his siblings died of it.

My mother and two of her sibs have had polyps. One had to have a chunk of colon removed and the colon resected. I had one small, benign polyp in 2000.

Yes, the scoping itself is not a big deal. They drug you past the orbit of Neptune with Versed and opiates. My mom will drive me home - I did the same for her a few months ago.

The cleansing cycle is definitely the worst. Here's a summary for people who haven't had to deal with it:

- No aspirin or similar drugs for a week.

- Nothing but clear liquids for 24 hours.

- One three-ounce bottle of Fleet Phospho-Soda laxative taken in two separate doses about 16 and 12 hours before the procedure, plus drinking more water than you'd want to.

Normal dose of that laxative for clearing constipation is two teaspoons. The dose used for preparation causes everything to blow out with great force. Very unpleasant indeed.

But once the procedure is over you know where you stand, and the narcotics completely neutralize any remaining spasms from the laxative. You can begin eating again immediately, but not driving or doing anything that requires deep thought. I'll probably go out to either the City Deli or the Big Kitchen (popular San Diego breakfast spots) with mom.

Those bigotted racist xenophobes. From the above posts though, my company is not the only one without the day off. Perhaps, that judgement is a little harsh.
