1st annual Seafood Fest at the Old Mint in New Orleans this weekend - WOW
went down this afternoon and the food was incredible, crab cakes, crab balls, Deanies oyster po boys - oh my. And the tomato fest will be going on at the French Market tomorrow with about a 100 different tomato based dishes. Lord, I died and gone to culinary heaven. IT was hot as hell this afternoon but plenty of ice cold beer. Let the good times roll over and over and over.

4. Anytime you come you will be incredibly welcome
Satchmofest the first weekend of August; a tribute to the music of Louis Armstrong. Every day is a day to let the good times roll and eveyr penny you spend helps the city.

7. I don't know that I've ever had an oyster
they scare me a little, only because I get VERY, VERY sick if I eat mussels. I'm ok w/ clams, but mussels will have me barfing for 2 days (even just one mussel)

so the oyster thing... a bit intimidating

9. Stop it! You're killing me!
All the rest of my vacation days this year (I think) are going on the annual trip to Mom and Repuke Stepdad in NY and NJ. :(

First annual, huh? That explains why I don't recall that one... great to see the home town starting up some new traditions as we gear up for the next 300 years! (in your face, Heckuvajob Brownie!)

Crab balls, eh? Does Crabman from "My Name Is Earl" know about this? More to the point, does Joy? :P
